Resort wear

Posted on August 18th, 2011

If you live in sunny San Diego resort wear is one of many types of clothing that you can wear every day and look stylish.  Of course it is also great for cruises and tropical destinations. Nowadays, quite a few resorts require that you dress in “resort sophisticated wear” in various areas such as restaurants and banquet facilities. While on its face, resort classy wear might cause some packing anxiety, it’s really simple, extremely exquisite look. In its basic form, resort elegant wear describes a style of dress one could find in an upscale setting at a beach resort or country club.

For ladies, this dress code includes a summer dress. It’s the simplest option: easy to pack and easy to wear. Beautiful silk dresses and strapless tube-dresses are always popular and look sophisticated at the resort. Should you choose not to wear a dress, consider skirts, capri pants or longer shorts paired with a blouse or caftan. Women can place on either a nice dress shoe or sandals since the atmosphere is usually relaxed, the apparel should feel like a very nice extension of that aura.

Colors for resort wear consist of bright colors. Green, aqua green, blues, orange, yellow and white all look fabulous near the water. Along with color, prints are well-known. Reckon tribal and large floral patterns, along with embroidery and beading.

Layering’s the key and at night, when it’s cooler, or you’re in an air-conditioned restaurant, it’s the ideal solution. Kaftans and tunics are fabulous for layering or transforming from day to night. Dress it up with jewelry.

Pack ‘natural fabrics’ – cottons and silks are perfect. They ‘breathe’ well in the humidity and will keep you cool. Don’t underestimate silk…it’s tough and will dry in a flash.

Take clothes with longer, looser sleeves – believe it or not, they will actually keep you cooler because they allow the air to circulate and keep the direct sun off at the same time.

Consider air flow during the heat of day. Summer dresses of all lengths are great for ensuring cooler, fresh air can circulate around your body. Skirts will do a similar thing as will kaftans and tunics. Knee length or long, they will still be cooler than skin hugging pants, t-shirts and even shorts!

Pack versatile pieces - it’ll mean packing less. Lugging over-stuffed bags around will certainly make you sweat! Make sure you take versatile pieces in your holiday stash that will take you ‘from beach to bar’ in effortless style and grace.
